Recording with Firebox through Jack and FFado
Can someone direct me to detailed instructions for setting up Audacity 2.1.2 to record from Firebox. Presumably Jack and FFADO are the only alternatives available, or am I wrong? I have tried the latter but having a lot of problems. One Audacity related issue is that it seems to be no longer possible to record from the Firebox and monitor through an ALSA output, since ALSA output is no longer available when Firebox is activated now (unlike previous versions). Can QJackCTL be used to run Jack to allow ALSA output via patching? Thank you for your attention.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking.
I presume that you are referring to a PreSonus Firebox? Does it work at all on your computer with any software?

Yes, I do have it working (Jackd+FFADO Mixer+Audacity), but the gain is quite low. I'm wondering if I might be doing something wrong.

Have you tried enabling the +12 dB boost? (the manual is available here: http://www.presonus.com/products/FireBox/downloads)autumnleaves wrote:Yes, I do have it working (Jackd+FFADO Mixer+Audacity), but the gain is quite low.

I guess this is the source of the problem. I don't think the Presonus windows software runs on Linux.
