Export Multiple with project, or selected, time length ?

Hi all.

I'm fairly new to using Audacity.

I'm running Audacity 2.1.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I want to Export Multiple tracks as files, which I know how to do.
But, when it's done the tracks come out in total project individual length.
I want to export them so someone else can import them into another DAW for
additional mixing. Using simply Export Multiple on music that has overdubs,
edits etc., the tracks will come in all different lengths and won't be lined up.

How can I export multiple tracks but have them export as the same length ?
Ideally in a way that would export selected, a highlighted, section.
Or at least being able to export multiple tracks in a project and them all coming
out the total project length.

I hope the description of my problem was clear.

Thank you for any help.

You need to add a bit of silence to the start of all tracks so that all tracks have a start time of 0.0.
A quick way to do that:
  • Click on a track
  • Ctrl + A (select all)
  • Rewind button (or Home key)
  • "Generate menu > Silence" and generate a second or two of silence.
