Due to its superior performance and other issues, Wayland on GNOME is set to become the default Window Manager for Fedora 25 (the next version).
However, Audacity 2.1.2 crashes on startup if the windowing system is Wayland. If the windowing system is classic X then it works okay.
Is there a timeline for getting it to work with Wayland? Most other major programs (web browsers, libre office, etc) work fine with Wayland.

Re: Wayland support
As you say, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1346040#c1.
Also Audacity does not support gtk3 so you may encounter https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1347053.
