Slow down tempo without losing sound quality

Hello,
Probably this question is already answered, but I didn't find answers, so i keep looking.
Is there a way to slow down tempo (from my experience tempo change is speed change compensated with pitch change, right?) without getting distortion?
Do I miss something?

Thanks!

There are two native effects in Audacity which can change tempo without changing pitch :
Change Tempo & Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift.
Each effect adds a different type of distortion. IMO the second type is least offensive with music.

But there's totally no option of losslessly slowing down tempo?

No because when you slow audio down, the laws of audio dictate that it *should* reduce pitch. If you don't slow down too much, Sliding Time Scale will not sound too bad.
