Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus
When will there be support for the latest release of Ubuntu? As of right now I can not use Audacity on the latest release. I am not happy about this at all.

Re: Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus
Please see the pink panel at the top of the page and explain precisely what the issue is.
The latest Audacity development code and the 2.1.2 release tarball run on Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit because the latter is one of my systems.
Audacity is not responsible for whatever release of Audacity ships with Ubuntu or its content - that packaging is a solely a matter for Canonical.
If the problem is that you want Audacity 2.1.2, you can compile it from source code (you could try the steps at Building Audacity 2.1.2 on Ubuntu 15.10). Or register and log into Ubuntu Handbook and ask "Panda Jim" if he will make a 16.04 PPA of Audacity 2.1.2 that you don't have to compile.
Another alternative is to install Wine and run Audacity 2.1.2 for Windows.
