When I play audio file in audacity and than click stop and than click play audio gets distorted and when I click stop again audacity becomes unresponsive.

Assuming you are using the "pulse" or "default" playback device this is a known issue. Please see here for workarounds: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Linux_Issues#pulse.
