adding effects progressively

Hi! Is there a way to make effects fade into and out of an audio selection, instead of being applied abtruptly? I want normal audio to take off softly into altered audio, and then return in the same manner to its normal state. More specifically, I want oscillators and reverb to do that. Maybe Nyquist Prompt would help?

You were fine until right about there. You want what??

You can simulate applying effects gradually by creating two tracks, one with effects and one without. Fade between them at whatever rate you want using a number of different tools.

You need to duplicate the track (Select the track then "Ctrl+D"), then apply the effect to one of the tracks, then "crossfade" the two tracks.

Unless this isn't the effect you want... and I have an idea it's not.
