There is a 30-band graphic equalizer in the Calf pack that I have. This is it running in Audacity.
It generally runs ok, but when I close the effect window, Audacity crashes.

I definitely don't have that. Is it a Debian package of Calf or did you compile it from source code?

Is that when you use any close method, and if you close when playing audio or not?
I did get Calf Reverb to crash a couple of days ago when using ESC while it was real-time previewing. But I can't make it happen again.

Yes.
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/calf-plugins

It seems to be by any method with any of the Calf plug-ins, whether playing or stopped.
When I have time I'll try building from source and see if they then work better. I know that Leland has used Calf plug-ins successfully.

OK, that's a later package than mine. I presume Ubuntu 15.04 would also have that package.
Get_Ready could perhaps upgrade to 15.04, but there seems to be a question mark over Calf stability in Audacity.

That could be older versions of Calf as well.
I only have Ubuntu 15.04 in a VM but I could have a try there with whatever Calf-plugins package is offered there.
