FIXED: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
Greetings .
It is an automatic translation. Sorry.
I have also written a post identical in Spanish.
Mistakenly copied the launcher from Audacity usr / share / applications folder to the desktop. When running Audacity I started getting the error alert title .
I thought it might be a lock file. In this forum there is an entry about this (http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 48&t=67814) and followed the instructions, but I could not find the file audacity-lock-username I did was delete the whole folder audcity-username. I also deleted the configuration file.
Also, I tried to uninstall and purge Audacity, I made a autoremove then reinstalled, etc.
The thing is that the alert title no longer see, but the program takes long time to open, which is not normal because the system is installed on an SSD that is like a shot.
It is clear that something has been in the system but do not know it can be.
Someone could help me with this?
Thank you.

Re: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
Sorry I forgot these little details.
After uninstall, install it again by terminal: sudo apt-get install audacity
Thanks for responding so quickly.
My distribution is Ubuntu 12.04.Which Linux distribution are you using?
The Audacity version is 2.0.0Which version of Audacity?
Initially, I installed Audacity to Software Center. How did you install Audacity?
After uninstall, install it again by terminal: sudo apt-get install audacity

Re: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
So the problem now is not the message "another copy of Audacity is running", but that Audacity takes a long time to launch? Is that correct?
Before Audacity opens it needs to scan the sound system to find what audio devices are available.
For some reason this tends to be quite slow on Ubuntu.
Audacity also scans for available plug-ins. This is normally pretty quick unless you have a very large number of plug-ins.
Audacity will also try to load FFmpeg (if installed). Again this should be fairly quick, but can be a bit slow if the version of FFmpeg is incompatible and cannot be loaded.
Roughly how long does it take for Audacity to launch?
Try launching Audacity from a terminal window (open a terminal window and type audacity)
When you press "Enter" you should see a lot of text appear while Audacity is scanning for these things. Copy and paste that text into your reply - that should give some idea what is taking the time.

Greetings.
The language of my system is Galician and there are parts of the text are translated. But I think you should understand without problems.
Thank you.
Indeed, now the problem is the response time audacuty. Before the title problem was much less time.So the problem now is not the message "another copy of Audacity is running", but that Audacity takes a long time to launch? Is that correct?
Audacity takes about 23 seconds to start.Roughly how long does it take for Audacity to launch?
I started Audacity from a terminal and the text is as follows:Try launching Audacity from a terminal window (open a terminal window and type audacity)

Re: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
Greetings again.
Thank you very much.
I think it's too long because Ubuntu is installed on a SSD disk. In fact, I have a laptop (Core 2 Duo, 1GB ram, ect) with a 32bit ubuntu installed on a HDD that starts Audacity slightly faster than Ubuntu 64bit I tendo installed on the desktop PC (Core i5 2500, 8GB RAM, SSD) is the team that we're talking about. In addition, previously initiated as quickly as can be expected on an SSD.That does seem quite a lot even for Ubuntu.
The processes that take the longest to complete are related to bluetooth devices, specifically the following lines of text:While it was doing that, did it appear to pause for a long time at a particular point, or did it complete all of that quickly and then pause before launching?

Thank you very much.
Re: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
I thought the problem might be with bluetooth.
I completely disabled bluetooth on my machine as I don't use it, and Audacity then launched significantly more quickly, but as you use bluetooth that is not an option for you.

Re: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
It is true. I removed the bluetooth adapter and Audacity startup time went from 23 seconds to 3 seconds.
However, I still believe that before you had the problem of yore Audacity was started faster. With the SSD applications are launched almost instantly.
You can set Audacity to look no bluetooth adapter or any other such device?

Re: Message: "...another copy of Audacity is running...."
There is currently no way to select in Audacity which audio devices to scan. I'm not sure that it is even possible to do so.
Probably a better approach would be to write a little script to kill bluetooth and then launch Audacity. This will then allow bluetooth to be restarted when you need it. You'd probably use something like:
to stop bluetooth.
rfkill should be available in the Ubuntu repository.
