  • whether you installed your distribution's release, PPA version, or compiled Audacity from source code.

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade (see https://www.audacityteam.org/download/).

Split stereo tracks - which version

Post by brilyant » Tue May 14, 2013 11:14 am

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Repository version 2.00(Unicode) of Audacity
"Split stereo track to 2 x mono" is not present on Tracks dropdown.

Is this a feature only of later versions? If so, where does it enter the system, and is it better to dump v2.00 and install from source code, or to upgrade to a later version of Ubuntu?

It is in Audacity 2.0.
You may have the wrong menu - it is not the "Tracks" menu from the main menu bar - to get the "Track drop down menu" (the menu for one audio track), click on the name of the track in the panel on the left end of the track: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... _menu.html

Thanks.

I'll go off and bury my head in shame.
