cannot create new file, cannot record

I have Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
installed from snap
Problem: I cannot create a new file. It will open a new instance of Audacity but empty, no track.
Problem: I am getting error message “Error opening recording device. Error code: -9997 Invalid sample rate”

I can import a file, play it convert it but can not record on it even if I erase the sound.
Any solution?

It may be that some other app has control of your sound card.
Try this:

  1. Log out of your computer, then log back in (or just reboot)
  2. Launch Audacity (do not open any other apps).
  3. Ensure that the recording and playback devices are set to “default” in the Device Toolbar.
  4. Try recording something.
