Invisible Mouse Pointer

Linux Mint 20 Audacity 2.4.2 installed via Software Manager

I am currently recording an audiobook. It has all been going well - great sound quality etc - but I am having difficulty editing because the mouse pointer keeps disappearing. Whenever I move it into the audio track window it simply becomes invisible. The pointer is still active, so I can click and highlight, but as I can’t see where the pointer is, I have no idea where I am in the soundtrack. Please help!

Someone had the same problem on Manjaro, though no solution was posted - other than trying a different cursor theme or different version of Audacity.
