AUDACITY SOUND WAVES LOOKING WEIRD

Help for Audacity on GNU/Linux.

  • the exact three-section version number of Audacity from Help menu > About Audacity,
  • whether you installed your distribution's release, PPA version, or compiled Audacity from source code.

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade (see https://www.audacityteam.org/download/).
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

AUDACITY SOUND WAVES LOOKING WEIRD

So i'm completely new to audacity and already have been having crashing/freezing problems on Ubuntu 18.04.4. So when i first downloaded it the soundwaves looked fine but i don't know if i accidently did something to change them and now it's horrible to look at cuz it all just look like a mess. Ive tried zoom in but it doesn't seem to help. It all just seems to blurr together likr s huge mess hah.

Not just like a straight line cuz i know im not playing like that should happen i think. So more like this -

My guess is that (in your first post), the first track is a click track, and the other two tracks are distorted due to signal overload somewhere in your setup.
