I'm having trouble when I try to start a recording on a secondaty track that I've just created. I have to press R a couple of times to start out the recording. When I press first time, it creates a vertical line and nothing else.

i solved it. just go Edit --> Preferences --> Recording - and uncheck the option "Play other tracks while recording (overdub)"
