I am using Linux Mint 19.1 Cinammon; and Audacity 2.2.1; which was installed from my distribution's release.
I would like to transfer from my tape recorder.I read that I could input on the sound card,at the light blue port.
Can I connect/disconnect there safely, with the computer running?.

Re: Live connect/disconnect to a sound card
If it is a small round hole (mini-jack connector), then yes you can plug/unplug while the computer is on. The tape recorder should not be playing when you plug in / unplug.
