Template for effects

Post by johnro43 » Mon Apr 16, 2018 7:45 pm

OS: Mac 10.13.3 Downloaded and installed Audacity 2.1.2, but have mostly worked with 2.1.1.

I am recording a book, which requires one file per chapter ... 40+ files. I want to use some effects ... bit of compression, etc. ... but need to have the effect be the same for each chapter. I know I can replicate settings anew for each chapter ... but is there a way to set up a template so that all will be the same?

The current version of Audacity is 2.2.2, which is available here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

You can set up a "Chain" of effects, but be aware that for best results it is usually best to tweak each effect for the specific recording that you are processing. There's no getting away from the fact that producing high quality finished work is a lot of work, and short cuts usually compromise quality.
For information about Chains, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/chai ... ation.html
