Is the latest version of iTunes compatible w/ Audacity 2.1.2

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X.

ImageThis forum is for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

I am trying to import audio into Audacity while iTunes is open, and my music will not populate. I have not had this issue in the past. Any ideas?

You're dragging from iTunes onto the desktop and then into Audacity, right?

If you're trying to go direct, you may need to install the FFMpeg format translation software.

Scroll down.

Depending on how you did it, your iTunes music is in Apple AAC format. I don't think Audacity can handle that without help.

My music imported as M4A. I don't think Audacity will do that without FFMpeg.
