Thanks so much! I can't believe how easy it (and quick) it was to solve with your help!
I'm sure I'll be coming here again!

Re: Says I can't open due to duplicate already running
jayjayhutch, I know it has been a while from this post but, were you able to find a fix for it? I'm having the same issue and don't know how to fix it. I deleted the app and emptied the trash but the projects I created with it still have the audacity icons. They wont open, but when I reinstall the app and try to open them, it says that the app is already running. No Audacity folder was created in Application Support (there is no folder with that name).jayjayhutch wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 2:13 pmI’m sorry for time wasting, it’s just really hard to describe the problem. As I said, I saw you posted a solution, but I can’t seem to “lock file”.
First example is this: how am I suppose to find this in my Mac?
it said to go into
~/Library/Application Support/Audacity/Session Data but I can’t find that on my computer. Where do I go into on my Mac to find that?
Also where am I supposed to find this:
audacity-lock-<yourUserName>
And if i can’t find that anywhere even after you give me additional advice, what shall I do then?
MacOS 10.13.6
audacity 2.3
Re: Says I can't open due to duplicate already running
To fix it, update to Audacity 2.4.2 https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
