Exporting to M4R Using Chain

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X.

ImageThis forum is for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Exporting to M4R Using Chain

'.m4r' is the file extension name for an iTunes ringtone. It's exactly the same as '.m4a' (= 'mpeg4' audio file), but with the 'a' changed to 'r' to differentiate their purposes.

Audacity's useful 'Chain' function offers the following six export formats:

Audacity Chain export formats

However, Audacity's File>Export Audio function seems to offer twelve or more export formats:

'File>Export Audio' formats

How can I add 'Export to M4A' to Audacity's Chain function? :(
