ACX Check not working

Help for Audacity on macOS.

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

Happy you're all working.

I'm not sure why I never ran into this. I do download files and never had the machine try to "convert" them to text files.

Kristina, did you ever get to use the ACX check? I'm in the same situation. I'm in the middle of my first audiobook and cannot figure out how to get the specs, and also cannot download the ACX check? I hope you were successful. That would give me hope. I'm at the point where I've decided to pay a sound person to help me figure some things out.

If you were successful, do you know what you opened the downloaded file with? Maybe that's my problem. I have options like Adope Acrobat Reader DC, Internet Explorer, VLC Media Player and "Search the Store". I have no idea what to look for in the store.
