can't recognise file after exporting wav with Reaper

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X.

ImageThis forum is for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

can't recognise file after exporting wav with Reaper

Hello,

as I love the stretching algorithm of audacity, I want to use it with my sound files.
However, I tried to export a sound file with reaper with this specification:

Sample rate: 44100
Channels: mono
Resample mode: Extreme HQ
WAV bit: 24 PCM
Large files (mine is 1 GB): Auto WAV/Wave64

The file is streamed by the QuickTime player, but can't be opened by Audacity because the file type is not recognised.
Does anybody know why?

Best

That's a little odd because I thought Audacity automatically used QuickTime Services.

Do you have FFMpeg installed (scroll down)?
