Audacity working with an external mixer

Post by Birger » Mon Oct 30, 2017 12:24 pm

I have tried to get the Audacity program to work with my Yamaha mixer for making song recordings with overdub - but it does not work. It won't record the singing and also the playback that goes via the Yamaha mixer is so low that you can't hardly hear - whereas when the playback goes on my Mac via external speaker it is fine?

Anybody with the same problem?

Which Yamaha Mixer? USB? Does it claim to have "Zero Latency Monitoring?

I use an analog mixer with a USB audio interface. The only trick is I have to listen to the interface, not the mixer, but I do hear both sides in Perfect Overdubbing.
