Help for Audacity on macOS.

ImageThis forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".


Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Track Control Panel is not visible. How do I access this?

Please begin by telling us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page).

It is recommended to use the current 2.1.3 release from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac. Then you can always use the online Manual for 2.1.3 if you need help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/.

If the gain and pan sliders or the Mute/Solo buttons are not visible to left of the blue waves, try View > Expand Tracks or similar.

If that does not help, hover over the bottom of the track (below the waveform) until the mouse pointer changes to up and down arrows, then drag the track downwards.

If you closed a track in error, Edit > Undo.
