Hello,
I'm using Audacity 2.1.2 on an iMac running OS 10.6.8.
My question probably has an easy answer, or at least I hope so!
I'd like to replace a section of an audio track with silence, and I'd like to be able to change the length of that silent bit.
How do I do that?
Thanks!

Re: inserting silence
Drag-select the portion you want to remove. Generate > Silence > OK.
Generate should carefully create a silent slug that just fits into the hole where the bad sound was. At any time you can click in the sound slug and generate more silence.
You can drag-select some of the silence and DEL key.
