Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum. I produce a weekly podcast and Audacity has been great since January but recently has been acting up. When I try to export in mp3 format, it used to take 3 to 5 minutes - now the "time remaining" ticker starts around five minutes and then *INCREASES*. It will usually climb over an hour after ten seconds of exporting and I normally bail before then.
I'm using a mid 2014 13 inch Macbook Pro running El Cap. When it does this to me I usually move my project files over to a thinkpad W500 running Elementary OS and export it using Audacity on that machine.
I've reinstalled audacity and reinstalled several times. Any idea what the problem could be?

Did you post this about a week ago?
Audacity has a problem where if you have greatly mis-matched music tracks, the Time Remaining is reported wrong. I believe the actual export is normal, just wait it out. It should complete in the usual time.

I've seen this problem too. But that was with a previous version of Audacity. Are you on the latest version (2.1.2)?

2.1.2 has this problem. It is necessary to do without an accurate time remaining or select all the tracks and Tracks > Mix and Render before export.
It will be fixed when 2.1.3 is released.
