REALLY basic: can't move cursor to select what to cut!

Post by WDavidStephenson » Wed Jun 03, 2015 5:30 pm

Hi. I finally upgraded from my old MacBook and an ancient version of Audacity to 2.1 running on my super-fact MacBook Pro operating on the latest version of Yosemite.

This is so basic that I can't believe I can't do it, BUT, with the new version, I can't move the cursor to highlight the portion I want to cut: it automatically progresses from 1.0 to 2.0 to 3.0 and so on. Is it perhaps a preference that I didn't set? I thought I'd gone over all of them, and I certainly didn't see anything to that effect.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You have set the "Snap To" to on - see the bottom left corner of the Audacity window.
