I have asked the developer who made the changes for Audio Units but I have not heard back yet.

Drag the Audacity folder where your Audacity.app is to Trash.

If you want to completely remove your old settings, open ~/Library/Application Support and delete the "audacity" folder.

At the moment you can still obtain 2.0.6 from http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html.

We probably won't be making many more releases for PPC, even if Audio Units can be made to work in 2.1.0 on PPC Mac.

Starting with Audacity 2.1.0, Audio Units won't load on PPC Macs. This change was needed to make Audio Units load on Yosemite.

The final version of Audacity that supports Audio Units on PPC Mac is 2.0.6:
http://www.oldfoss.com/Audacity/downloa ... -2.0.6.dmg
http://www.oldfoss.com/Audacity/downloa ... -2.0.6.zip .

Audacity 2.1.1 will be the final version to support PPC Macs (without support for Audio Units, as indicated).

Thanks So Much Gale.

I recently purchased a mid 2010 IMac running Mavericks and am running Audacity 2.1.0 with just a few very minor glitches. I have redrawn all my presets and have added them to Audacity and so far have rebuilt about 1/3 of my library. I'm not a professional user. Over the past 15 years I have been a volunteer for several social and church groups in my area and have been in charge of providing music for events such as children's parties, adult dances, and exercise program etc. I believe the new options in Audacity will make it much easier to make adjustments to account for acoustics at the different venues we use. I really like what the team has done with Audio Unit Effects and the real time adjustments has brought this program to a new level. I won't go so far as to say Audacity 2.1.0 is the only audio tool you will ever need, however, I believe every "audio tool box" should have it.

Thanks
djjarge

Thanks for your feedback, djjarge. I'm glad you were able to obtain a new machine.

Sorry it was not announced that Audio Units did not work in 2.1.0 on PPC Macs. None of us has PPC Macs any longer, so we did not know. We were not expecting it, but it was always a possibility.
