Everything appears as either iTunes or QuickTime if the Mac can't figure out what to do. iExplorer is not an Apple product:The native player appears to be Quicktime, but quicktime as a standalone program won't open the exported files. Strange
It's natural to just use QuickTime Services for everything, but you don't have to. For one thing, historically, QuickTime will not recognize Windows Media files. See Flip4Mac:Copyright © 2015 by Macroplant LLC
