Screen does not scroll with cursor during record/playback

Post by Rikki127 » Sat Oct 11, 2014 2:02 pm

Audacity 2.0.6
OSX 10.9.4
iMac 21.5 inch
3.1 GHz Intel processor

Audacity records and plays back OK but the screen does not follow along with the cursor. It stays stuck at the beginning and I can only see the recording in playback if I move the scroll bar at the bottom manually. Is this a bug or is there a setting to get the screen to refresh as the cursor travels?

Go to Preferences > Tracks then check "Update display while playing".

Thanks Bill! I looked at the Preferences about 20 times but somehow that checkbox listing didn't "click" when I saw it.

It's enabled by default so you must have unchecked it at some stage.
