Every once in a while the Audacity icon pops up on my desktop. Don't know why. Also, SoundFlower does the same thing.
Can anyone tell me how to prevent this from happening?

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

There is meant to be a "splash screen" with Audacity logo when you launch Audacity.
