Not sure if this will help anyone, but Soundflower does not work anymore due to some license stuff. No Soundflower for Mavericks.

That is GREAT news!~! Where did you download the version that works? I tried the version from MacUpdate and it didn't work. But that was almost half a year ago.

I downloaded it from a link on http://cycling74.com/soundflower-landing-page/ .

This is a direct link to the "1.6.6" version that is "for OS X 10.6 to 10.8": http://soundflower.googlecode.com/files ... 1.6.6b.dmg .

This is probably the version I have though I can't tell because only Soundflowerbed actually is an app.

You can get all the versions of Soundflower from http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/downloads/list .

I just used Soundflower to record a small portion of a TED talk on a Mavericks machine. You have a conflict there somewhere.

I should find if you're getting blue waves and bouncing red sound meters.

If you are, you are getting a recording whether you can hear it or not. People confuse those all the time. It's not unusual for Soundflower to interrupt normal speaker sound while it's re-routing your performance. I reset Audacity:

Audacity > Preferences > Recording > [X] Software Playthrough (select this).

When you record, both the red recording meters and the green playback meters will bounce and you should be able to hear the show as it is being recorded. Make sure the Audacity playback selector in the toolbar is set to Built-In Sound, or Built-In Speakers or however your Mac works, and NOT SoundFlower.

That's funny. I downloaded the version of Soundflower mentioned higher in thread, and it works. Just not with Audacity. The program just doesn't recognize the sound.

You mean, it records silence (a flat line)?

Are you sure you are following everything on http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... n_mac.html ?

It's super easy to get the Soundflower setup wrong. It's completely counterintuitive. "Thinking it Through" is a waste of time. Step through the wiki entry.

You are a life saver!

And a timely reminder. I knew all that two years ago, but simply forgot.

I finally upgraded to Mavericks and still can't get Soundflower working. I ran through the tutorial again and nada. Must be something on my system no if under a different OS I see the same issue?
