Release Candidate 2 builds for the upcoming Audacity 2.0.5 release are now available for testing:
2.0.5 contains fixes for:
- Frequent crashes occurred on importing audio files on some machines
- Files did not open using Finder "Open with", double-clicking the file or dragging the file to the Audacity icon.
Please reply to this topic if you encounter any problems, especially with file open or import.

I can install two different Audacity versions by calling one of them a different name, right? That's not going to cause chaos? I rather like 2.0.3 for actual work. Koz

Yes. You can have multiple Audacity versions and it should not create problems with existing file associations with 2.0.3 or with Finder "Open with" identifying which Audacity is which.

The DMG does not have everything inside an "Audacity" folder, as we have done in the past. This conflicts with the installation instructions: "Then to install Audacity, copy the "Audacity" folder from the newly mounted .dmg to /Applications or any other location of your choosing."
It also is "from an unidentified developer", so you have to right-click then choose "Open" from the context menu to get it to launch the first time. I thought we had fixed that, but I see that Paul's nightlies also have that problem

Thanks, Bill. Also it doesn't have Install.txt which seems pretty important if the build really isn't signed. I'm not clear whether the signage is broken or Apple changed something again in OS X 10.8.5.

The developer signage and DMG structure will be corrected in the next rc2 release candidate.
