Hi,
I have recently bought the Ezcap USB cassette capture, found the driver on the site and installed it, then switched the input to USB PnP Audio Device. But when I try and record a cassette onto the computer an error comes back saying "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate". As far as I'm aware, the input device settings involve pressing play on the cassette player!!
What am I doing wrong here??? It's not registering the PnP on my computer, the USB doesn't show on the desktop, is it even supposed to??
Very confused as to how this actually works.
Thanks in advance
Shaun

Audacity > Preferences > Quality: 44100, 16-bit.
Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Stereo.
Some devices will put up with other settings and some won't.

Hi there,
Didn't work, same error message.
Not sure what else to try.
I might try plugging a mini jack to mini jack from the player into the microphone input on my computer and change the input.
Would that work?
Thanks
Shaun

No, that won't work - you'll overload the mic input and get horrible distortion.shaunfenn wrote: I might try plugging a mini jack to mini jack from the player into the microphone input on my computer and change the input.
