Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules
This forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at
https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the
1.2.x and
1.3.x forums.

hello, first time here
i get an error message that says "cannot save project"
i recorded a song from my yamaha successfully but i cannot seem to save the song and then move on to convert to mp3
i am using a new mac.
i also might mention that i have used audacity with windows xp for years
i really am confused

Try File > Export for your song and save it to your Desktop as an AIFF (you can change the folder you save the song to).
Then Audacity > Quit Audacity and make sure your are following the installation instructions correctly:
http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . You should not be running Audacity from the DMG, in case that is what you are doing.
