Thanks, squast.
It's really unfortunate if you have to use that old version.
Do the names of your imported files have non-English characters, or do the names of the folder they are in have such characters ?
At the moment I think 1.3.11 has the crash problem, but I am not sure about 1.3.10. I have 1.3.10 but Audacity 2.0.4 is not crashing for me at the moment even if import a file with a Chinese name.
If you go back to 2.0.3 and it starts crashing, feel free to see if 1.3.10 crashes
http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/au ... 1.3.10.zip .
It would certainly help if we could find out in what version the crashes started happening. If you see "textension" in the crashed thread in the report, the crash is due to this Unicode problem.

I may have a couple of songs titles with an umlaut in the artist name (Queensryche or Motley Crue) but I thought I cleaned all of those up.
I am transferring files from my Mac onto an SD chip for our car stereo. The SD format is FAT 32 for Windows-based software in our VW. I noticed when an AC/DC title comes on the screen the slash shows as a box since Windows files can't have a / in them. Might that be the problem? Ironically, none of the AC/DC files I worked on crashed Audacity.

Thanks, no - a forward or backward slash should not be a problem on Mac. The colon is the only disallowed character there. Forward and backward slashes are original
ASCII characters .

Thanks. I've found using 1.3.10 stopped the crashes happening too.
Can we tempt you with 1.3.11
http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/au ... 1.3.11.zip ?
I've been told that 1.3.11 suffers from this textension problem. If you try 1.3.11 and it crashes, please post the crash report.
