New User Finds Edit Commands Greyed Out[SOLVED]

Post by tundern » Sat Jul 06, 2013 11:11 pm

Hi! I'm trying to get started with Audacity 2.0.3 on Mac OSX 10.6.8. No matter how I select the first 13 minutes which I want to delete from a recording (Select->Left at Playback Position or clicking on the soundtrack image and sliding the cursor to the left), Cut is greyed out in the Remove Audio or Labels menu and the Cut button on the menu bar doesn't work either. What might I be doing wrong?

Have you pressed the yellow Stop button? Please see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#grayed .

Most of the actions and tools fail when you're in Pause instead of Stop.

Thanks, Quality Assurance and Forum Staff: no longer greyed out after the Stop button is pressed. That was easy!
