I've got 50 or so short .aiff files that I would like to open in Audacity and identify the frequencies of the lowest 2-3 peaks. For each file I choose Plot Spectrum, then select Size = 16,384 and Axis = Log Frequency, and then drag the Frequency Response window out horizontally so that I can easily see everything.
I would love to save the settings for Size and Window. Is there any way to do this? I can only find similar preferences for Spectrogram.
Also, I believe that the previous version of Audacity did not create a separate Frequency Response window for each new file that you open, allowing you to set up the window once and then use it for a series of files. This was very handy, but I can no longer find a way to do this. Is it no longer possible?
Many thanks,
Dave Hollinden

Re: Plot Spectrum and Frequency Analysis window
There is no preference, but your last choice of settings is saved in audacity.cfg.dhollinden wrote:I would love to save the settings for Size and Window. Is there any way to do this? I can only find similar preferences for Spectrogram.
The maximum window size for Plot Spectrum will be 65536 in the next 2.0.4 release of Audacity.
I'm not sure what you mean by set up the window once. In 2.0.3, File > Import > Audio lets you import files in tracks underneath each other, so to analyse the next track, select it then press "Replot..." in the existing spectrum plot to analyze that track.dhollinden wrote:I believe that the previous version of Audacity did not create a separate Frequency Response window for each new file that you open, allowing you to set up the window once and then use it for a series of files. However yes if you want each file in a separate project window, then each project window has its own spectrum plot.
