2 channel, stereo option unavailable

Help for Audacity on macOS.

2 channel, stereo option unavailable

When I open audacity/preferences/devices/recording - the channels drop box ONLY offers " 1(mono)"... how do I get "2(stereo)"?

What are you connecting to Audacity? USB microphones are only mono. Koz
