Hello all, my first post here.
I am using A. on a MacBook Air, top specs, 10.8.3. My Audacity is 2.0.3. I recall I opened a zip file to load the software.
Any help appreciated, KL

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

You have not installed Audacity correctly.
Probably the best way to fix it is to remove Audacity entirely, then reinstall it follow the instructions here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac
