Newtime user. Don't know if question got posted. Trying to record old cassettes using headphone jack to line-in. Only hearing out of one speaker. Can it get it to play out of both?

Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Recording > Channels > 2-Channel (Stereo).

Make sure your audio cable plug is all the way in.

Do you have two sockets like this?

Check your cable. Is it a 1/8" or 1/4" headphone jack? Do the plugs on both ends of the cable have three connections?

They are mini jacks with two ridges. I believe they're 1/8 (the same plug that goes into the "line-in" on the iMac.

Got it! I pushed both jacks in hard and it must not have been making a good connection, because now it works. Thanks!
