I want to quickly search a sound file and count how many times a bell has been dinged.

What analysis tool do i use?

Is there any other sound or is it just the bell ding and silence?

Yes, the bell ding (desk bell, like at a dry cleaners, etc) is embedded in conversation.

That's going to be tough.
Could you upload a short audio sample (just a few seconds, preferably in WAV format).
