Using osx 10.7.4. Downloaded just now from dmg, not using the zip.
Today I shut off the computer, re-opened it, downloaded the latest audacity, and now I can't get Audacity to give me the choice of a USB input. The only choice it gives is internal microphone. A few weeks ago I successfully copied old audio-cassette tapes to MP3 files via Audacity. Since then my company techies gave us a new version of Mac and maybe safari also. Now it doesn't work. Do you have any ideas?
Audacity omits the USB choice whether or not the USB cassette player is plugged in to my Mac.
Thanks
Don

Re: can't get "select USB"
Make sure that the USB device is connected and recognised by the operating system before you open Audacity.
If Audacity is already running when you connect the device you will need to use "Transport menu > Rescan Audio Devices".
