I am a nubie

Post by MaryRose » Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:36 pm

I have a long recording mp3 and I want to excerpt small bites and makes them in to mp3's on their own, on a particular interview question.
I don't know the lingo so I wasn't sure how to search for, and ask about doing this.

Thanks,
M

Import the MP3. Press Space to Play, Space again to Stop.

Drag along the blue waveform with your mouse to select the first bit you want to save as a separate MP3. Command - b to open a label for that selection, then type the name you want for that file. Then drag-select the next bit for export, label and continue like that.

When you have labelled all the bits, make sure you have pressed Stop. File > Export Multiple and choose "MP3 files". This exports the labelled bits all at once as separate files.

If you don't have the LAME MP3 encoder yet, you will need to add that to your computer, following these instructions:
