Even after downloading version 2.01 Mountain lion comes up with a dialogue box "AUDACITY CAN'T BE OPENED BECAUSE IT IS FROM AN UNIDENTIFIED DEVELOPER"
any suggestions. ?

Try pulling down the ZIP version, Decompress to regular files and install it that way.

I have found a way. went to the System preferences and clicked security. there you can decide to let one or all unapproved programs in. I kept security up by choosing to only allow audacity in. hooray.
