Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules
This forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at
https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the
1.2.x and
1.3.x forums.

I've had my version for about 2.5 years now and was wondering which version I was running and I realised that the 'About' option is greyed-out.
Any suggestions?

I believe the party line is to abandon whatever you have in favor of the latest Audacity 2.0.1 from here...

Get the "lame" and FFMpeg from the same place. Don't reuse the old software.
If you went as far back as 1.2, that software can be unstable with the newer Macs.
If that's the only problem you have, you might want to stick with it and just put up with the occasional bobbles.

Thanks, Koz.
I think it's time to update anyway as a few things have always been niggling me (naming a file when 'Save As' then causes Audacity to go nuts...etc.).
