Possible to assign pause/play to pause/play button(fn 8)

Possible to assign pause/play to pause/play button(fn 8)
I wanted to assign the pause/play button shortcut key for audacity to the standard pause/play button on my mac keyboard. I am hopeful of being able to pause and play audio files playing through audacity while still typing on a word document (in this case audacity would be in the background). The key is fn8. it seems that the standard audio software my macbook pro comes with are already coded to work with the standard key for pause/play on the keyboard, but audacity is not. Any ideas? Thanks.
