I can't hear audio playback in Mac OS Monterey (12.6.1) and Audacity 3.2.4

I can’t hear audio playback in Mac OS Monterey (12.6.1) and Audacity 3.2.4
I recorded the audio using Audacity. I can hear the playback audio saved on my desktop, but I can’t hear the audio when I play it on Audacity.
Please help.

Did you accidentally turn down the playback volume? Recent versions have integrated the playback volume control with the playback meter.

Thank you. That was exactly the problem.
You have saved me hours of searching for a solution.
You are the best

You solved up an issue with Vanessa_Adams back in February. She was unable to hear audio playback. I have the same situation. Your solution was she probably accidentally turned down the playback volume. Where is this playback volume control that you pointed out to her? Thanks for your assistance. I am using Ventura 13.1 along with Audacity 3.3.3. Thanks again

The playback volume control is integrated with the playback meter.

In the graphic shown here Meter Toolbars - Audacity Manual note the little rectangle between 24 and 18.
