Trouble setting up Mic on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13

Hello,
I am trying to set up a CVL-2005 USB microphone on my Mac. It registers as there being “no input devices” when I connect it to my computer. I tried going into Privacy Settings on my computer, but there is no microphone selection. I also tried using Audio MIBI Setup to “use this device for sound input”. The rate was set at “2 ch 16-bit integer 48.0 kHz”. I then went into Audacity Preferences to try to change the default sample format to 16 bit and default sample rate to 48,000 Hz to match the Audio MIBI Setup. While Audacity recognizes that the mic is connected, the -9986 Error Code comes up. I am really not sure where to go from here, and any further help is appreciated! Thank you!

Go to Apple (menu) > System Preferences > Sound > Input. Does the microphone show up there? When you speak into it does the input level meter bounce?

What version of Audacity are you using?
