mp3 problems

I’m on an IMac version 10.15.7. I downloaded Audacity 3.0.2 and I can’t create an mp3 file or export it into my hard drive. I had no problem doing this with a prior version of Audacity. I was able to save the file as an .aup3 to my hard drive however. ACX insists on mp3’s only. If I can’t send ACX mp3 files I won’t be able to continue my work as an audio book narrator. Any ideas on what I need to do?

Why not? What happens when you try?

Nothing happens. It just doesn’t show up in my hard drive. But I did solve the problem, by chance. A YouTube video erroneously said that I could export the file to mp3 at 320 kbps. I had been using 192 which is what ACX, the audio book company I am working with, says is their minimum. So I went back to that and the mp3 showed up in my hard drive just as it used to do. Problem solved.

I have no problem exporting an MP3 at 192 kbps cbr. Do you get the export dialog after you click the “Save” button?

And I had no problem exporting a file to mp3 at 320 kbps on 3.0.2.
