Playhead skips in Big Sur

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

Playhead skips in Big Sur
Very frustrated following upgrade to Big Sur. When editing the playhead doesn't move smoothly but skips along making it very difficult to identify the exact point of the sound. Any ideas?

Right-click on the Audacity icon in Applications. Select Get Info. In the Get Info window, check "Open in Low Resolution".

It does. Brilliant! I think I saw this reply elsewhere and maybe from you but I misread it and missed the part of doing it in Applications. Anyway thank you very much.
